Part-Time Boxing Instructor
Croydon - ASAP Start
2 to 3 days per week
£120 per day PAYE
Can you be a role model to a young person with SEMH?
We are actively seeking an experienced boxing instructor to work with young people at a specialist college designed for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These students, for various reasons, cannot access mainstream education.
We require a professional who understands the powerful impact that exercise, especially boxing, can have on young people facing SEMH challenges. These classes will serve as a crucial outlet for students, allowing them to engage in a sport that is essential for their self-regulation and overall success in their daily school life.
Boxing sessions are a key part of our therapeutic approach, helping students develop:
- Self-discipline and emotional control
- Confidence and a sense of achievement
- Positive outlets for frustration and anxiety
- Respect, routine, and resilience
Requirements
- Experience leading boxing sessions for young people aged 16 – 19 (Coaching qualifications preferred)
- Possess an understanding of SEMH needs, and have the ability to adapt sessions to suit the young people’s needs
- A positive, patient approach with young people who have SEMH needs
- The ability to build trust and create a safe, structured environment
