Make a Real Difference to Young People with ASC
Some pupils arrive at school carrying worries, frustrations, or communication challenges that make the day feel harder than it should be. With patient, consistent support, these young people can grow in confidence and begin to thrive. This role puts you at the heart of that journey.
About the School
This welcoming secondary school in Barking and Dagenham provides specialist support for pupils with ASC. The team focuses on structure, clear routines, and personalised learning that celebrates each young person’s strengths.
Small class groups allow you to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will help create an environment where students feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Supporting pupils in a calm, well organised setting
-
Helping young people engage in lessons and develop essential life and social skills
-
Working alongside experienced staff including SENCOs and therapists

Seeing meaningful progress in pupils every day, no matter how small
About You
You may have experience in ASC, SEND, youth work, care, or pastoral support — or you may simply be someone who is patient, resilient, and committed to helping children feel secure and valued. A positive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are key.
Training and guidance will be provided, so you can step into the role with confidence.
Why This Role Matters
The impact you make will stay with pupils long after the school day ends. Whether you are helping a young person manage their emotions, communicate more clearly, or take a step forward in their learning, your support will genuinely change lives.
