You will either go to the pupil's home or the local community centre to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils with EHCP who cannot attend school for various reasons. Pupils will have Autism / ASC, Speech and Language Communication Needs, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Every child is different, and you will be matched to the pupils who are suitable to your strengths. Therefore, it is important that the successful Teacher has a strong background in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques. SEN Teaching Assistant Secondary Newham Autism specialism Do you have personal or professional experience with autism? This school is structured, supportive and has high standards when it comes to their students and staff, you will be in an environment that has a clear pathway set out for your long term goals and can offer extra training if you are open to it. The role is to support a child 1:1 that has autism and learning difficulties, the childs' needs mean that he can become dysregulated and requires a TA that understands this and can set out a clear structure for him.
