English Teacher – Specialist School (ASD, ADHD & SEMH) – Cheshunt

We are working with a specialist school in Cheshunt that provides education and support for pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school has a strong therapeutic and nurturing ethos, ensuring that every pupil feels valued and able to achieve.
They are now seeking a dedicated English Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role is open to both qualified and unqualified teachers who have a genuine passion for English and for supporting young people with additional needs.
Key Details

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant with a focus on science, you will support students with autism and other additional needs to access the curriculum and make progress. Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will help to create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic and has the resilience to make a real difference to young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting students with autism and additional needs in science lessons and across the wider curriculum
Assisting teachers in planning and delivering differentiated activities
Encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction and communication skills
Providing tailored support in small group and one-to-one sessions
Recording and monitoring student progress and sharing feedback with the team
Contributing to the wider life of the school and ensuring inclusion in all aspects of learning
The Ideal Candidate
A strong academic background in science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Experience supporting students with SEND, particularly autism, in an educational or care setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, proactive and caring nature
Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential – the school is open to science graduates or individuals with transferable skills who are keen to develop a career in education and SEND.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care, which will encompass Speech and Language Therapy assessments, treatment and management of needs extended to life outside of school. You will assess, implement and develop treatment programmes according to diagnosis and identified needs.
Responsible for: Delivery of Speech and Language Therapy within school settings across 3 SEN schools in East London.
Candidate should be/have:
A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registration n process.
Paediatric experience.
A passion for working in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
An understanding of Speech and Language Therapy process/interventions.
Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
Resilience and an ability to manage difficult situations.
