1:1 Behaviour Mentor

Thurrock

£85 to £95 per day, PAYE

Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

 

I am working with a fantastic school who are looking for an engaging and passionate 1:1 Behaviour Mentor for a year 4 student with Autism and SEMH needs. The children attending this school may have challenging and disruptive behaviour, they may or may not have a SEN diagnosis, EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). I am looking to speak to professional and committed Behaviour Mentors, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

1:1 Behaviour Mentor requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication
  • Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

What you can expect as a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor

  • You will have a natural ability to build a good rapport with young people and become a positive role model.
  • Be able to act as strong role model and set clear boundaries. The role will vary from day to day and you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
  • Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field
  • You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, as a Behaviour Mentor you could change the path of someone’s life!

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees. 
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £85 to £95 per day, depending on the role and your experience.
