A Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Central London is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and flexible Primary Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young learners who aren’t able to access mainstream education, due to their behavioural, emotional and other additional needs. Students will be on a long or short placement that will return them to mainstream or supporting students who will be moving on to further education or work.
About the Role:
- Teach primary-aged students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ADHD, and other barriers to learning.
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, with a focus on basic skills and social development.
- Use behaviour management strategies to build trust and support pupils in re-engaging with education.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN specialists.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated to learn.
The Ideal Teacher for this Role:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience in primary education.
- Has experience or a genuine interest in working with children with SEMH needs or complex learning profiles.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to manage challenging behaviour and build positive relationships with pupils.
- Passionate about inclusive education and believes in the potential of every child.
