An all through school in Stratford are seeking a dedicated individual to join their team and support a new provision for four autistic children. About the Role: This exciting role involves working with two reception-aged children and two year-one children, all of whom are autistic. Two of the children are non-verbal, and two have limited verbal communication. You will be responsible for providing tailored support to meet their individual needs, using a variety of communication tools and strategies, including Makaton. The goal is to help these children eventually integrate into mainstream reception classes. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualised learning plans, taking into account each child's specific needs and communication styles. Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers and pupil achievement coaches (PACs) to ensure a consistent and integrated approach. Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters the children's development and well-being. Provide personal care support as needed. About You: You have extensive experience working with autistic children, particularly those with limited verbal and non-verbal communication skills. You possess a deep understanding of different communication approaches and are proficient in using Makaton. You are skilled in developing and implementing individualised learning plans. You are a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and you have a patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
