About The Special School:
A unique and forward thinking special school in East London are recruiting ASD Teachers for this September. As the school expands, a temporary site is opening this academic year whilst renovations and upgrades are made to the current site. Staff and pupils will then return to the newly refurbished and improved site based in the heart of East London.
This provision of the special school provides learning and support to pupils with autism and other complex and severe learning difficulties. With a focus on positive behaviour support, this school fosters a happy and safe atmosphere where all pupils can learn freely and with the correct support.

What We're Looking For:
Minimum 1 year Special Needs Experience: A solid foundation in a special needs school setting desirable, however any SEN experience that you can translate into a special setting always welcome.
Passion for the Sector: A deep commitment to the special needs sector, driven by a genuine passion for making a difference.
Resilience: The ability to remain steadfast when facing challenging situations, ensuring our students receive the support they deserve.
Availability: Dedication to working full-time, Monday to Friday, on a long-term basis.

Join us as a dedicated Behaviour Mentor, supporting students aged 5–18 with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and related learning challenges, and help make a real difference every day!
The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
Build trusted relationships to support students' emotional regulation
Help manage behaviour using de-escalation and restorative approaches
Deliver targeted interventions in and out of class
Create a calm, consistent, and safe learning environment
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Builds positive, trusting relationships with students to support emotional wellbeing and promote engagement.
Implements strategies to help students self-regulate emotions and behaviours, including the use of visual aids, calming techniques, and structured routines.
Supports students in recognising triggers, managing anxiety, and developing coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Works closely with teaching staff to adapt learning environments and behaviour plans tailored to individual needs.
Uses de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches to manage challenging behaviour calmly and constructively.
Encourages social interaction, communication, and independence through structured activities and mentoring.
Monitors student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals as needed.
Acts as a consistent, calming presence throughout the school day, offering proactive and responsive support when difficulties arise.
Promotes inclusion by helping students access learning and participate positively in school life.
About You:
Experience with SEMH, Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour (in any setting)
Calm, confident, and empathetic in your approach
Skilled in managing conflict and de-escalating situations
Team player with strong communication skills
Resilient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education
