Join the team as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant at a specialised SEMH school in Guildford, where you’ll support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, and other associated learning difficulties.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work within small class sizes of up to 10 students, alongside 1-2 other Teaching Assistants, to create a safe and supportive environment tailored to each student’s needs.

Role Details:

  • Position: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Guildford
  • Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience (paid via PAYE)

Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant's Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support for students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with other Mental Health Teaching Assistants and teachers to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Utilise strong behaviour management skills; Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential.

Requirements:

  • Experience in SEN or SEMH settings is an advantage; applicants with personal SEN experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Resilience, empathy, and patience to support students who may exhibit verbal and physical aggression.
