We have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently working with a specialist Further Education outreach college for 16-25-year-olds with complex needs in Essex and surrounding areas. There are seeking a 1:1 Mentor for a young person with ASD, Global Delay and Epilepsy. This young person has a very keen interest in Music, so an ideal candidate will have an interest in this. Working with young people with SEND is such a rewarding opportunity and you will go home and know you have made a difference, what an amazing end to your day! Epilepsy training is required. You must have a full driving license for this role and access to a vehicle.

We are supporting a mainstream school in Islington who are lookng for a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil will be be moving from a Pupil Referral Unit through an EHCP consultation to the mainstream setting in mid-November. There is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child transitioning from a PRU to a mainstream environment. The pupil has SEMH nees and a diagnosis of ASC. Someone with a nurturing but boundaried approach, with knowledge of trauma and informed practice is really important.
The Role
Providing consistent nurturing support while maintaining clear boundaries.
Applying trauma-informed practices to promote emotional well-being and engagement.
Supporting the pupil in class, during structured activities, and unstructured times such as break and lunch.
Helping the pupil build confidence, resilience, and independence.
Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, families, and external professionals to deliver tailored support and monitor progress.
Being a positive role model and helping the pupil to develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.
About You
Experienced in supporting children with SEMH needs or highly motivated to learn and develop in this area.

This is an inspiring, therapeutic organisation that works across London. They have a no exclusion policy and support the hardest to reach, high risk and most vulnerable young people. This role is supporting young people who may have been out of formal education for several years and are unable at this time to cope with learning in a classroom, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people who are new to the organisation,You will be responsible for their induction, assessment, and transition over a two term period.
These young people have an SEMH and/or ASC diagnosis, alongside complex additional needs. They may be at considerable risk of exploitation or been exposed to extreme violence and abuse in their homes. They need someone to help. Could this be you?
This organisation has a high success rate in that young people are eventually are back in full time education or employment, and on top of that thriving, able to regulate their emotions and begin to process their trauma. An example of this is a young person with previous low school attendance, multiple exclusions, PTSD, and extremely aggressive behaviour. After being assigned a specialist mentor and working together, this young person has now transitioned to a specialist school, has a 93% attendance record, is part of restorative groups helping him to process his trauma and is thriving with a bespoke curriculum.

The school caters for children in yar 54 & 6 with complex needs and provides inclusive and personalised learning. They are looking for suitable candidates who have experience supporting children with complex needs. The main need in the classroom is autism, some students are nonverbal and communicate using symbols.
Key Responsibilities Learning Support Assistant
Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum.
Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
Support students with personal care needs when necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, dressing).
Use visual aids, Makaton, or other communication tools to support students with communication difficulties.
Promote social interaction, independent learning, and self-esteem in all students.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
Provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive emotionally and academically.
Encourage positive behaviour through a consistent and caring approach, in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Support with physical and sensory needs, including helping with the use of specialist equipment where required.
Requirements
Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with children with SEND.
