About the Role

SEMH Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs who find mainstream education challenging? Do you have a talent for helping students thrive in a specialist environment?

I am currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly, welcoming Mainstream Primary school!

I am looking to connect with experienced and committed HLTAs ready to make a difference in the Havering area. This opportunity involves supporting both behaviour and learning.

What we're looking for in a HLTA:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural difficulties, trauma, sensory processing, and social communication needs
  • Confidence planning and delivering lessons where necessary
  • Previous experience as a HLTA, tutor, or leading small groups
  • The ability to build strong, positive relationships with students
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND

What you can expect as a HLTA:

  • Comprehensive training and experience, ideal for aspiring teachers.
  • A unique opportunity to make a meaningful social impact—your role as an HLTA in this setting could change the course of a young person’s life.

Interested in this role? If you'd like to learn more about this HLTA opportunity or other SEND roles, I'd love to hear from you! Please apply through this advert, upload your CV to our website, or send your CV directly to me at elisha@psinclusion.co.uk.

If we don't contact you within 5 working days, unfortunately, your application has not been successful this time. However, we will retain your CV for future opportunities, and you're always welcome to reach out to discuss your career in SEND.

Parker Smith Inclusion is committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. All applicants must either hold or be willing to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which we are happy to assist with.
