PAY: £120-£180 per day (PAYE)

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Thurrock, Essex. This school caters to students aged 11-16 who have been excluded from mainstream education. It’s a close-knit, supportive environment where resilient and caring staff make a real impact on students' lives, opening doors to a brighter future. The school prides itself on its ‘family feel’ and its dedication to helping students grow academically, socially, and morally.
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher, or an experienced member of support staff, to lead small group sessions for year 11 students. You will be working with groups of 8-10 students, and all lesson plans will be provided. The sessions will cover core subjects like Numeracy, Literacy, and vocational topics like Cooking. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in a PRU setting!
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with students who present challenging behaviour and be skilled in using de-escalation techniques. You should be resilient, calm, and have a positive, inspiring attitude that will engage and motivate learners.
You don’t need QTS for this position, though it may be an advantage. If you’re an unqualified teacher or have experience leading sessions for young people, we’d love to hear from you!
