We are working with a school based in Hackney that caters to students for secondary students with SEND, which includes ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language and communication needs. The school are looking for passionate SEN Career Development Coach & Administrator for their Year 12s to join their ethical team. Part of the role as a Job Coach will involve supporting the students with their work experience placements, college applications, work experience through the school and giving guidance, support and advice for their job placements. The other part of the role will be supporting students with independent travel and administration support. Key Responsibilities Independent Travel Trainer Deliver tailored travel training to students, ensuring they can navigate public transport safely and independently. Monitor progress, complete checklists, and report updates to line managers, class teams, and other stakeholders. Prepare and implement risk assessments for travel training activities. SEN Career Development Coach Organise and coordinate meaningful external work experience opportunities that match students’ abilities and interests. Consult with students to understand their skills, preferences, and support needs, adopting a person-centered approach. Set up, support, and monitor students in work placements, providing on-the-job training, advice, and guidance. Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, negotiating roles that align with students’ skills while meeting business needs. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly in a post-16 setting. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to build positive relationships. Knowledge of risk assessments, safeguarding, and disability equality practices.
