Do you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Are you kind, compassionate, and eager to learn? Do you dream of working in a supportive, innovative special needs school? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
The Role
We’re looking for inspirational Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Working in a SEND school is one of the most rewarding careers you could choose—no two days are ever the same, and each day brings new ways to make a positive impact on young lives!
In this creative and dynamic environment, the school has adopted a play-based approach to learning, using fun, engaging activities to break down barriers and stimulate learning. Some students focus on building functional communication and independence skills, while others work toward achieving academic qualifications to access mainstream college courses. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students both inside and outside the classroom, acting as an encouraging and positive role model every step of the way.
While working in SEND can come with its challenges, particularly in managing complex behaviours, the right candidate will be resilient, understanding, and able to see beyond the challenges to help each child succeed. Additionally, some students may require personal care support, so you should feel comfortable assisting with toileting and changing where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Compassionate and empathetic
- Passionate about working with SEND students
- Eager to start a career working with children with complex needs
- Someone with prior care experience
- Experienced in working with children
- Bubbly, positive, and enthusiastic
- Always willing to learn and grow
What’s in it for you?
- The chance to work in a fantastic, friendly school
- A supportive network of staff who are passionate about helping you succeed
- The opportunity to gain experience in a specialist SEND school
- PAYE payments only, with no hidden fees
