Role and Responsibilities: As an SLCN Specialist TA or HLTA, you will: Support students with Speech, Communication, and Language Needs across various age groups. Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement tailored communication strategies and interventions. Deliver small group and 1:1 sessions focused on language development, social communication, and comprehension skills. Assist in creating a stimulating, inclusive learning environment that fosters progress and builds student confidence. Work collaboratively with external professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists, to align strategies and monitor progress. What You’ll Bring: Experience supporting children with SLCN, ideally in a school setting. An understanding of effective SLCN strategies and a toolkit of techniques for promoting language development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Flexibility, patience, and a proactive attitude in supporting a diverse range of students. TA/HLTA qualifications, or relevant SLCN experience within education (HLTA status is an advantage).
