A nurture school in Plaistow are in need of a support worker within a nurture group of 8 students, the students have significant SEMH needs and struggle to emotionally regulate, such as impulsive disorders, hyperactivity and poor social communication skills. The young people are taught core lessons on the school site but then go to an outdoor learning venue in Essex, to support them with a different learning style to keep them engaged. (transport is provided via the school) A great candidate for this position would be someone who is active, creative, energetic, patient, and has the ability to understand young people to be able to build trust. It is essential that you also possess the skill set; De-escalation and conflict resolution skills Able to build rapport and trust with young people. Support students to build emotional awareness and literacy skills Support teachers to prepare classroom resources and equipment Experience working with students who demonstrate challenging behaviours.
