We are working with an inclusive primary school in Havering seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child in KS2 with an Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance diagnosis. This is a full-time, long-term role for someone with the experience, empathy, and resilience to make a real impact.
The Role
You’ll be providing consistent 1:1 support, building a positive relationship that helps the pupil feel secure and engaged in their learning.
Build trust and rapport, using patience and firm but calm boundaries
Support engagement with the Year 5 curriculum, adapting where needed
Provide encouragement, structure, and consistency in and out of lessons
Model positive behaviour and help the child to regulate when challenges arise
Work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to ensure joined-up support
About You
Previous experience supporting children with autism, PDA, or social/emotional needs is highly desirable
Confident working with the upper KS2 curriculum (Year 5 level)
Resilient, patient, and skilled at building meaningful relationships
Proactive, adaptable, and able to stay calm under pressure
A strong team player with a genuine commitment to inclusive education

A MS Primary School in the heart of Newham, a short walk from Stratford station are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistants to support a new child moving into their SEN provision, this child is in Year 5 but learning at a KS1 level with ASC and Learning Difficulties.
This school prides themselves on their academic level for their students therefore all candidates are expected to be bright, professional and able to support children with autism confidently, you also need to have proven experience supporting children with ASC and learning difficulties with the confidence to work on your own. You will be expected to support learning, early years & KS1 interventions such as sensory circuit, bucket time, messy play, phonics and more.
I am looking for candidates that have previous experience within a MS Primary or SEN setting, minimum 1 year.
The child is moving into this new school therefore will be dysregulated at first due to the change, he will need someone reasuring, empathetic and patient to support him, he shows no physical behaviours and can read and write however is experience a learning delay. The Nest Provision within this school is equipped with sand and wet play for sensory as well as core boards and more to support the child's learning, there is only 2 other students within the nest and a teacher. But to not put extra stress on current team members they need a TA that is confident to come in and hit the ground running.
We are looking for candidates who:
Have experience working with children with ADHD and ASC in a primary school setting.
Are calm, patient, and confident in managing behaviour positively and proactively.
Understand the importance of consistency, routine, and strong communication with staff and pupils.
Are committed team players with a flexible, solution-focused attitude.
Are flexible with changes that can come with working in a school such as a move in class or location.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted in-class support to pupils, including those with ADHD and ASC.
Deliver post-teaching and catch-up interventions in small groups or 1:1.
Support positive behaviour management strategies.
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure tailored support.
Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role
