Key Responsibilities: SEN Teaching Assistant
Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum.
Support students with personal care needs when necessary
Using symbols to support students with communication difficulties
Promote social interaction, independent learning, and self-esteem in all students.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
Provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive emotionally and academically.
Encourage positive behaviour through a consistent and caring approach, in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Support with physical and sensory needs, including helping with the use of specialist equipment where required.
Requirements
Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with children with SEND.
A genuine passion for supporting young people with special needs.
Ability to work well as part of a team, following guidance from teachers and other professionals.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different levels of understanding.
Patience, empathy, and a calm approach in challenging situations.
