Do you have the ability to de-escalate affectively? Would you want to work full time in a primary setting? In the London Borough of Hackney a short walk from Daltson Junction station I am supporting a large MS primary school with a Behaviour Teaching Assistant role, the main purpose of this role is classroom management and supporting the teacher, you will also be expected to work with SEN students 1:1 inside and outside of the classroom. This is a large school giving them the ability to promote and maintain independence and implement what works best for their pupils, as well as a supportive environment with their staff, pupils and families, boasting a cultural diversity. The school will be considering candidates that can display experience of interventions that include, handwriting, reading, behaviour, emotional regulation and the ability to de-escalate quickly to avoid complete distraction for the the whole class. There are high needs of SEN for around 10 students within this classroom therefore you will need to have the ability to support multiple children at one time whilst still being able to support their IEP, continuously promoting independence and confidence for the students.
