A friendly and supportive mainstream primary school in South East London is seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO looking to take the next step in senior leadership and become Assistant Head for Inclusion. Working in a team of 4 Assistant Heads, this role will focus on supporting pupils with SEND and taking on the responsibilities of school SENCO, acting as the school’s Wellbeing and PSHE lead.
Belonging to a well established trust of schools, this role offers the opportunity to progress in a supportive atmosphere, allowing for freedom and flexibility in your role and always acting in the best interest of the pupils.
Main Responsibilities –
- Determine the strategic development of SEN policy and provision in the school to raise the achievement of children with SEND, those eligible for Pupil Premium and those identified as vulnerable.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND.
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents, and other agencies.
- Act as Wellbeing Lead and Deputy DSL, taking an active lead in improvement across the school.
