About the school
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and caring individual to actively contribute towards the education and personal development of autistic secondary school children aged 4 to 16. The students at this school have a primary diagnosis of Autism and associated challenging behaviour with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school focuses on developing independence and self-advocacy, improved behaviour, communication and social interaction. They also provide further support by working with parents to provide their students with the best education experience possible.
What we expect in an Autism Teaching Assistant:
- Have some experience in or be keen to pursue a TA role.
- A robust individual with some experience with ASC and challenging behaviour is preferable, but training can be provided.
- Applicants with hobbies, a sporting or arts & crafts background are beneficial.
