Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a passionate and personable Autism Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding SEN school in South West London. This position is to start immediately on a full-time (term time only) basis. This is a perfect opportunity to learn on the job and gain practical experience, especially if you are an aspiring Educational Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Therapist, or Teacher!

About the role
- Providing classroom support
- 7 students per class with a minimum of 3 support staff
- Literacy and Numeracy support
- Building a good relationship with the child you are working with
- Interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
- Managing behavioural challenges
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
About you
- Has experience working with children and young people with Autism / ASC
- Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with Autism / ASC and complex needs
- A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
- A team player and has great communication skills
- Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff
