Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • £425 - £475 PAYE Per Week (£85 - £95 PAYE per day)

At Parker Smith Inclusion, we are working with a lovely and supportive specialist SEN / special needs school in Mitcham, South West London / Surrey, and they are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated and ambitious team.

The school supports children and young people with Autism / Autism Spectrum. 

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have the full support of the inspiring senior leader team who firmly believes in the importance of employees' wellbeing and career development.

  • Team-Teach, Mapa, or relevant de-escalation techniques
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Manual Handling, Hoist, PEG feeding
  • British Sign Language

Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Educated to degree level
  • Passion for working with children and young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Must have previous experience (formal or informal/personal) supporting children with SEN, including Autism and ADHD
  • A proactive, positive individual who always strives to meet children's learning needs
  • Ability to build rapport with children
  • Able to assist with personal care (feeding and toileting)
  • Able to assist with hydro-therapy swimming
  • Fully committed and able to work full-time during term time
