Head of Literacy

Contract – Full time

Pay £130-£200 per day PAYE

I am working with a Pioneering Pupil referral unit who are looking for an experienced Head of Literacy who is ready for their next challenge and ready to help their students grow, develop, and support each childs’ success as they progress onto future education provision and adult life working alongside the senior management and management committee.

The Head of Literacy role

  • As the Head of Literacy you will be in charge of the development and implementation of schools policy for Literacy
  • As a Head of Literacy you will have to work collaboratively with colleagues across the sites you will be providing advice and guidance to colleagues across the Newham PRUs to ensure best practice and consistency throughout.
  • As the Head of Literacy you will provide training and guidance to staff and support the development of the teaching and intervention across the curriculum,
  • As the Head of Literacy you will have to carry out other duties which would be assigned by the Headteacher

The Head of Literacy  

  • The ideal Head of Literacy would have experience working in a PRU or similar setting
  • The Head of Literacy would have experience in training staff and coordinating the pupils’ curriculum
  • As the Head of Literacy you will require flexibility and resilience to be able to manage the demanding environment of working in a SEBD setting
