Are you able to draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to implement plans to support a young person in need?

About the Alternative Provision

The alternative provision caters to young people who have severe and complex social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and some with a dual diagnosis of autism and other special educational needs. They also have a link with young offending units.  The schools main ethos surrounds improving the lives of young people it educates.

About the Learning Mentor role

As a Learning Mentor you will support young people both in full class and 1:1 settings. You will help to deliver classroom lessons, and related educational activities. You will act as a learning mentor and appropriate adult for young people in the school setting offering them emotional support and educational guidance. You will get the opportunity to have lots of specialist training around supporting young people with SEMH and ASC and other additional special educational needs.
