Learning Mentor – NE London - throughout the academic year

As specialist SEND consultants we are ALWAYS actively seeking engaging and passionate Learning Mentors for schools that provide education to children who are unable to be educated in a mainstream setting, due to complex mental health disorders and other learning needs. We are looking to speak to professional and committed Learning Mentors to work in all areas of London, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!
Learning Mentor requirements
- Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
- Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication
- Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
- Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
What you can expect as Learning Mentor
- These Learning Mentor roles vary and we will advise you on where your experience would best fit, or how you can start a career in SEND.
- For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen path
- Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field
- You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, as a Learning Mentor you could change the path of someone’s life!
Pay
- We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees.
- Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £65 - £90 per day, depending on the role and your experience. Full Time Equivalent salaries are therefore £16,640 - £23,040 Per Annum, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only.
