Learning Practitioner – HMP  - Kent - £24000 - £25500 per annum

Are you keen to make a difference in the rehabilitation of offenders whilst building your experience and furthering your career within a specialist education setting?

I am working with HMP Services who are seeking passionate and dedicated Learning Practitioner  to start long term assignment starting ASAP

The role of a Learning Practitioner in the prison education service

This is a vital role within the prison service as the Learning Facilitator takes a lead part in the induction of new prisoners. As part of the role you will work in collaboration with the education and prison staff such as prison officers as well as partner agencies to support the learners to engage and succeed in the prison learning programmes. You will develop positive relationships with learners and support their experiences across the prison educations service. As part of the curriculum team you will ensure that the needs of all learners are identified and me. As a Learning Practitioner you will assist learners in applying for open university and other higher level education courses.

Learning Practitioner requirements

  • Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths
  • Be a positive role model
  • Calm and able to work well in challenging situations
  • Be able to build rapport quickly with staff and learners
  • Passionate about inclusive education and rehabilitation
