Are you passionate about supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) to join our school's provision.

Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Thurrock
Type: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: PAYE £80 - £95 per day
Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Availability: Full-time, 5 days a week, term time only

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, either on a 1:1 basis or in group/classroom settings.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to meet the diverse needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Personal and/or professional experience working with students with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and facilitating the academic and social development of students.
