I am working with a Pioneering Pupil referral unit who are looking for an experienced Literacy Mentor who is ready for their next challenge and ready to help their students grow, develop and support each childs’ success as they progress onto future education provision and adult life

The Literacy Mentor role

  • The ideal Literacy Mentor would be able to deliver literacy and reading-based sessions to KS4 Students
  • The Literacy Mentor must be able to embed the ethos and objectives of literacy and reading into all aspects of school life including curriculum, pastoral and enrichment activities
  • As a Literacy Mentor you should be able to assist in supporting the staff to develop and deliver literacy within their subject areas
  • As an Literacy Mentor you should be able to support and mentor students with personalised learning programs to help they develop a positive progression to help transition back to mainstream school or post-16 opportunities

Are you the ideal literacy Mentor?

  • The ideal Literacy Mentor would have 2 years of experience working within a PRU or similar setting
  • The ideal Literacy Mentor would have obtained or would be prepared to obtain an appropriate teaching/training qualification.
  • The ideal Literacy Mentor would have experience in teaching and delivering enrichment programmes for Key Stage 4 students
  • As the Literacy Mentor you will require flexibility and resilience to be able to manage the demanding environment of working in a SEBD setting.
