I am actively recruiting for a Mental Health Nurture Practitioner for a SEMH school in East London. This school champions a nurturing approach to pupils with challenging behaviour and mental health issues, rather than conflict, teaching students that it is better to talk about their problems.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support with emotional behavioural and relational regulation for pupils.
  • Mentoring students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Working in a team with other practitioners and staff members
  • Supporting the academic progress of all students
  • Delivering interventions to small groups of students or 1:1

 

The ideal candidate may be/have:

  • A nurturing approach to vulnerable students
  • Experience working with children in a PRU/SEMH/Outreach setting.
  • Resilient and calm personality
  • Ability to maintain positive boundaries with students.
  • A strong role model dedicated to supporting pupils.
  • Empathetic and understanding of mental health problems.

 

This role requires, resilience, determination and a nurturing, caring approach to children with mental health problems.
