We are working in partnership with a prestigious independent SEN school located in the London Borough of Camden. Due to school expansion, they are looking for a newly qualified or experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join their friendly multidisciplinary team. This position is full-time (term-time only) and to start in September.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, 9 weeks holiday
  • Working with children and young people aged 3 – 19 years of age with Autism/ASC, Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN) and associated learning difficulties

Ideal Paediatric Occupational Therapist:

  • HCPC registered
  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs, particularly with Autism/ASC, Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN) and associated learning difficulties
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive and patient individual who has the ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers
  • A team player and has great communication skills

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing occupational therapy service to children, focusing on functional skills and sensory motor development
  • Working with individual pupils on basic day-to-day life skills
  • Attending and contributing to staff meetings and Annual Review meetings
  • Working closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary team as well as outside agencies
  • Providing a creative and nurturing learning environment where children can reach their potential
  • Being fully aware of the school policy and implementing Health and Safety Regulations including Risk Assessment
