Part Time SENCO - Primary - Hackney 

PART TIME - SENCO (3daysPW)

Location - Hackney

Salary - £46,000-£46,000 (depending on experience)

The school

We are working with a small mainstream Primary School based in London Borough of Hackney, that has a warm and friendly atmosphere with a strong team work ethic. You will be working alongside a SENCO assistant with no SLT duties however working to support both the SENCO Assistant and headteacher, a good stepping stone to an earlier qualified SENCO. 

About the role

As the SENCO you will be part of an experienced leadership team, who have the children and young people’s development at the heart of everything they do. You will have overall responsibility for determining the strategic development of SEND and enforcing the SEND policy and provision within the school. You will be responsible for coordinating SEND provision to support individual pupils. As the ideal candidate, you will have experience working with SEND, giving you the knowledge and understanding to ensure that the specific requirements of students are met and that the provision is inclusive at all levels. As the SENCO you will have a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and ensure the school’s SEND provision meets the requirements that it sets out and how relevant legislation impacts on the provision of SEND in the school. NO TEACHINNG REQUIRED . SENCO Admin responsibilities only. 

The ideal SENCO MUST have

  • QTS
  • Experience as a SENCO
  • Experience in processing EHC Plans and also in the annual review process  
  • NASENCO is beneficial but at the very least, should be willing to work towards NASENCO qualification
  • It is essential to be able to work closely with both students and parents, building positive and sensitive  way. Being able to demonstrate knowledge of SEND.
  • Organised to ensure planning, monitoring and continuous review of all students ensuring needs are always met
