Salary £20,500 - £23,500

Location: London Borough of Southwark

Monday to Friday

About the school

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and caring individual to actively contribute towards the education and personal development of students within a specialist, built-for-purpose secondary school. The students at this school have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place and can express challenging behaviour. The school focuses on developing learning and achievement, emotional well-being, behaviour for learning, willingness to learn and also their social and life skills. This school in particular, has a therapeutic approach; they utilise play therapy, art therapy, canine therapy, a variety of sports, languages and music alongside standard school topics such as maths, English, science and computing.

The Ideal Applicant:

  • Have some experience in a TA role or SEMH setting but training can be provided for those with the right attitude!
  • Be a robust, resilient, positive individual with some experience of challenging behaviour is preferable, but training can be provided.
  • Wants to work in a highly supported and rewarding role with excellent training opportunities to develop their experience and career.
  • Wants to make a positive impact on SEMH children who, without our support, would otherwise miss out on quality educational experiences.
  • Applicants with hobbies, a sporting or arts & crafts background are a bonus!
