I am looking for a Teaching Assistant seeking a new opportunity to work in a fantastic school in Southwark. This school really believes that every person in the school is part of something inspirational. They really are proud of the achievements of every single pupil and pride themselves as a centre of excellence. The Teaching Assistant role focuses on children in the classroom with special educational needs. This would include working 1:1 and small group work. Other duties will include assisting with the planning of activities, monitoring pupils’ progress, intervening when necessary, providing relevant feedback to the classroom teacher, and performing general Teaching Assistant duties.



The Ideal SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Ideally, have experience working within a classroom environment, specifically with SEMH and will be confident with dysregulated behaviour
  • Ideally, have experience supporting children and young people with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Able to provide efficient academic support within the classroom
  • Resilience and adaptability are crucial alongside the ability to set and maintain boundaries
  • The ability to form lasting relationships between staff and students is a must
