Are you seeking a new environment working with students removed from mainstream education?

We are working with a school in London’s Southwark borough to fill the position of PRU Teacher to lead a class teaching within the school. The students at the school have been removed from mainstream education and may exert challenging behaviour, meaning the applicant must be fine with this. They will be supported by SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who will aid the teacher however possible.

The school itself is very modern, having various facilities and resources at the teacher’s disposal to assist with lessons and activities. The school itself truly cares for its staff, and the staff treat one another like family, which is a great dynamic to have amongst colleagues.

Requirements of a PRU Classroom Teacher:

  • QTS/QTLS
  • SEN qualifications or experience
  • To work and support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Challenging behaviour
  • To observe, assess and support students referred to the school from mainstream schools and to set strategies and behaviour targets based on reports and observations.
  • To work alongside Management, SENCO’s and other faculty
  • To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.
