Are you an experienced maths teacher looking for a new challenge in teaching within a PRU setting?
I am working with a PRU based in Hackney that is seeking an experienced Maths Teacher to start with them in September 2024 or sooner. The school caters for students who have been excluded from mainstream education, or who have been out of education for a significant period of time, or who have faced hardship or trauma. As a Maths Teacher in a PRU you must have experience teaching across secondary age students and managing behavioural needs and disruptive behaviour.
Main Duties:
- To plan lessons and teach maths across secondary
- Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
- Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
- Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers
- Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A thorough understanding of the National Curriculum for Maths
- Excellent communication skills
- Be resilient, creative and passionate
- To have awareness and knowledge of trauma and SEMH
- A strong sense of empathy, patience, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
