SEMH Primary Teacher

Permanent role for September 2024

Salary Scale: MPS/UPS + SEN max

 

Are you an experienced Primary Teacher looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs)? Perhaps you are an ECT looking for your first teacher role within an SEMH setting?

 

We are working with a SEMH school based in South London who are seeking a primary teacher who is resilient and hard working. It is important that the successful candidate has an understanding of mental health and teaching neurodiverse children.

 

Main Duties of an SEMH Primary Teacher:

  • To plan lessons and teach across secondary
  • Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
  • Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
  • Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers
  • Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health

 

Requirements of an SEMH Primary Teacher 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Unqualified and proven experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong sense of empathy, patience, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
