SEMH Teacher – SEMH specialist School – Romford

Are you a dedicated and experienced Teacher, with experience teaching children with SEMH needs seeking an exciting opportunity in a dynamic educational environment? I am working with a specialised SEMH school in Romford! They are currently searching for an innovative Teacher with great experience to support their children with SEND.

About the school:

This is a thriving and inclusive SEMH school that only recently opened its doors. They currently have 22 pupils on site, with a capacity of 60. They are looking to begin the gradual growth of their school by increasing their headcount of teachers over the next couple of academic years.

Children can be referred to a SEMH school for various reasons including a background of trauma, broken families, or suffering with their mental health.

The Role:

As a Teacher in a SEMH school, not only will you be responsible for delivering the curriculum, but also to support children with their needs in the classroom. Children can be referred to a SEMH school for various reasons, so it is important to be empathetic, and really listen to the needs of the children.

I am seeking a Teacher with primary experience. You will be responsible for delivering an all round curriculum to the children including core subjects.

Class sizes are small and you will be supported by various support staff on a day to day basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver core subjects to small classes of primary aged child
  • Work closely with other teachers to implement effective strategies to support students with SEN.
  • Deliver core subjects at primary level
  • Plan effective lessons

 

Requirements:

 

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Relevant experience teaching children with SEMH needs
  • Relevant experience teaching the primary curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
