SEMH Teaching Assistant 

I am working with an SEND School in the London Borough of Hackney that caters for primary all the way through to the age of 17 and they are actively looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants, this school specialises in working with children & young people with Social Emotional Mental Health, including Autism and an EHC plan. 

Overview of the role: 

  • SEMH Teaching Assistant 
  • PAYE 
  • Location: North East London 
  • SEND School: pupils have SEMH and Autism 
  • The ability to engage children with SEND is essential

Working as an SEMH Teaching Assistant you will be expected to carry out the following duties: 

  • Providing physical and emotional support within the classroom 
  • Fantastic communication skills and to be approachable 
  • Ability to be empathetic and understanding 
  • Support the teacher with lesson plans and keeping the classroom engaged in the lesson
  • Adhere and be flexible to meet each child's individual needs

This School are ideally looking to carry out interviews from Monday 15th April onwards, the contract will be until the end of the Academic year with a view to review into the new academic year.
