SEMH Teaching Assistant

£90-100 Per Day PAYE

We here at Parker Smith are currently working with a Secondary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon who are looking for a confident and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work with children aged 4 -18 who have a diagnosis of ASD and/or a wide range of complex needs.

The school have a fantastic team who will be able to offer you great support! This is a brilliant opportunity for a SEMH Teaching Assistant looking to utilise their skills and make a difference to the lives of young people.

You will need to be resilient, able to handle yourself, have experience with challenging behaviour, empathetic to the needs of the students and be someone who is looking for a career with SEND education.

The school is a specialist SEND school that cater to students who often require personal care, exhibit severe challenging behaviour and many are non-verbal. Be aware that you will be required to support students with their personal care often.

Requirements:

  • You will need experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour and non-verbal students
  • Team Teach or other form of restraint training is a big asset
  • Ability to handle yourself and keep composure in testing situations
  • Looking for a career and looking to stay long term and progress up the ranks
