The role

I am looking for creative, engaging teachers, who are passionate about special educational needs to adopt a new role as an SEN Teacher in a specialist school based in Harold Hill. This wonderful, OFSTED rated ‘Good’, school is a specialist school for children aged 4 to 18 who have varying levels of SEN. The needs in this school include autism, down’s syndrome, SEMH and more.

 

Having a background in SEN is not essential for this position. The key to this role is passion, resilience and creativity. This school need a teacher who can be creative and have unique ideas to engage learners. The school is an environment for learners to explore each day, and having a teacher that can generate a creative and stimulating approach can really break down barriers to their education.

What We Are looking for in an SEN Teacher

  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Ability to deliver lessons with a creative approach
  • Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
