SEN Teaching Assistant Complex Needs

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with complex and physical needs?

 

We are working with an ‘Outstanding’ special needs school that is based in Islington and is looking for dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their welcoming team. The school caters to students aged from 2 – 19 years that have physical disabilities and the students will use a range of equipment for their physical wellbeing so previous experience would be really helpful for the role. It is also essential you are comfortable with person care as part of the role will be supporting this.

 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with physical needs
  • Supporting students with personal care needs
  • Support students in mobility, self care and other activities to promote independence
  • To work as part of a team to support class sizes of no more than 9 pupils
  • Provide personalised assistance to students with physical disabilities

 

Qualifications;

  • Previous experience working with students with physical disabilities
  • Experience using the equipment needed for physical disabilities
  • Compassion, patience and a genuine interested in the well-being of students
