Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 (based on experience and Qualified Teacher Status)

We are working in partnership with a SEND school for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autism/ASC based in London Borough of Barnet. The school is looking for a SENCO to join their friendly and supportive permanent staff team. This is a full-time position starting in September.


This is a brand new and growing school, headed by a wonderfully inspiring Headteacher who supports and leads her dynamic and diverse staff team to enable them to be the best educators for the pupils who attend the school.



  • SEND school for pupils with SEMH and Autism/ASC; some pupils will have undiagnosed mental health needs such as anxiety, school phobia

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have QTS
  • Ideally have National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Has experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism/ASC, anxiety, sensory processing difficulties, social communication needs
  • Has experience working as a SENCO or in the management of multidisciplinary teams
  • Available to start work in September
  • Able to build solid and meaningful working relationships and be a role model
  • Passionate for working with SEND


Some of the students have never been diagnosed or will not be diagnosed, but they are suffering with mental health needs such as severe anxiety and find it difficult to be in mainstream school settings for different reasons. The school is determined to provide a positive, therapeutic, nurturing, and encouraging learning environment where children can develop their self-esteem and independence.
