We are currently recruiting a highly motivated and resilient SEND Teacher to join a well-established SEND school based in Hillingdon. The school caters for children with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The teacher will lead a class of 8-12 students, with most pupils receiving 1:1 support, meaning there is a lot of support staff in the class.

Responsibilities of an SEND Teacher:

  • Leading a class of 8-12 students with SEND
  • Creating and delivering an exciting and differentiated curriculum that caters to the needs of each individual student
  • Regularly reviewing student progress
  • Collaborating with other teachers and professionals to ensure each student receives the best possible education and support
  • Ensuring a safe, happy, and inclusive learning environment
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies
  • Keeping up to date with relevant training and CPD

 

What you will need for this SEND Teacher role:

  • Relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching children with SEND
  • Resilient and capable of managing challenging behaviour
  • Passionate about working with SEND students
  • Good sense of humour
  • Work well in a team
  • Experience in MLD/SLD/SEMH
  • Experience in leading a class
  • Experience in behaviour management strategies
  • Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorders
