SEND Teacher within PRU

Are you passionate about teaching students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?

Do you have experience with young people who are disengaged and have mental health challenges?

We are looking for a qualified specialist Teacher for an beautiful PRU in Wandsworth! This is a really unique opportunity to work in an excellent PRI based setting where your skills can grow and progress. The students will be secondary school age with some challenging behaviour. The school has a great supportive SLT and are hoping to find someone who is passionate and committed to the role they play in the students lives!

Understanding their needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who can make a positive impact personally before any academic development can happen.

What We Are looking for

  • Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Strong-willed and passionate person who is able to make quick decisions and get stuck in!
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential.

  • Experience working in specialist therapeutic settings.
  • Working with Multidisciplinary therapy teams 
  • Extensive specialist training from specialists

Requirements

  • Although some of our teaching roles require QTS/QTLS we want to hear from all Teachers no matter what your qualification is!
  • The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
  • A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach

Although experience teaching in PRU specialist settings is beneficial I would also love to hear from individuals who are interested in taking their first steps into PRU settings.
