08:30 to 15:30

The school/ Opportunity 

We are working with a fantastic mainstream primary school in the borough of Southwark to help them find a SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs such as autism. Within this rewarding role, you will work with a team of LSA / Teaching assistants within their SEND Provision. The role itself will be working within both the main classrooms and also the provision, the SEND Teaching Assistant will be in the classroom when there 1:1 isn't in the school.

The school has amazing facilities with flowing open-plan classrooms, an outdoor classroom with a garden and chickens, and rooms dedicated to music with various instrument options for the students to learn. The school also offer extensive training in PECS and Makaton as well as teacher training, which makes this an amazing opportunity for those considering a career in teaching.

The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: 

  • Experience working with students with SEND (ASC, Complex Needs and some challenging behaviour)
  • Able to work in a team and cooperate well with other members of staff
  • Fun and engaging personality
  • Passionate about supporting students with SEND
