The role
I am looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant who has a background in working with children with Speech, Language and Communication needs. This position is at a fantastic Mainstream Secondary school based in Hornchurch.
This is a mixed role of a general Learning Support Assistant role as well as a specialised SLCN LSA. The successful LS should have a background using different communication methods such as Communication boards and Makaton.
This position requires working across both Key Stage 3 and 4. You will spend your time between classrooms and outside of the classroom providing interventions.
The ideal candidate
The ideal LSA should be experienced in schools and have some sort of experience with Speech and Language. It is required that you are familiar with different communication methods that children may use as an alternative to being verbal. You should be focused and determined to encourage pupils to reach their full potential. You should also be warm, friendly and able to form good relationships with children as well as having a genuine passion for the job. As a successful LSA, you should be a positive role model for all and always be promoting good behaviour.
