Speech and Language Therapist - Autism School Based - Term Time Only

Are you an experienced band 5 or band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) looking to become part of a multidisciplinary therapy team for a SEN school?

I am looking for a band 5 or band 6 6 Speech and Language Therapist to become part of a permanent multidisciplinary therapy team based in a beautiful SEND school specialising in Autism/ASC.

 

Main responsibilities for Speech and Language Therapist role

  • Assessment and intervention planning
  • Group and individual therapy as required
  • Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
  • Curriculum development
  • Report writing and record keeping

 

Speech and Language Therapy hours and contract:

  • Part-time or Full-time, depending on your availability; term time only (39 weeks)
  • Long-Term contract, potentially to become permanent
  • Brent, North West London
  • January 2024 Start
  • Salaries in line with NHS bands 

 

Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registration in process.
  • Paediatric experience.
  • A passion to work in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
  • An understanding of Speech and Language Therapy process/interventions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Resilience and an ability to manage difficult situations.

 

About the SEND School

I am looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join a well-known trust based in Brent. You will work across two SEN schools within the trust; both schools provide personalised and holistic education to children and young people diagnosed with Autism/ASC and have a wide range of learning difficulties. They have an in-house therapy team, and you will have fantastic CPD and training opportunities! If you are a Band 5 therapist, you will be fully supported with supervision in place.
