Teaching Assistant (SEND/SEMH)

SEMH Primary School – East London

£90 - £110 per day (PAYE)

KS1 & KS2

Start: Immediate

Mon – Fri, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Are you looking to make a difference to young peoples lives?

We are working with an amazing school with excellent opportunity for the post of Teaching Assistant in the East London area. In this role you will be working alongside KS1 and KS2 pupils with mental health difficulties. They are seeking a teaching assistant to work with pupils affected by their trauma and inspire them throughout their learning, supporting them wherever possible.

We are looking for a motivated individual, preferably with previous experience working alongside children with challenging communication and ADHD and elevated social anxieties. Previous experience isn’t essential but it is desirable.

What to expect in this Teaching Assistant role

All pupils have emotional, social or mental health difficulties or challenging behaviour. With this we would like someone who is nurturing to encourage social development through therapeutic support. Social development is encouraged through a range of activities including drama, music and Lego therapy.  

Learning curriculums are tailored to each student individually to revolve around their aptitudes and interests whilst building both their core skills and knowledge base.

  • Proactive and confident using own initiative
