Do you want to support young people who are unable to access mainstream education?

 

I am working with a fantastic organisation who are seeking a passionate and proactive Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor to support vulnerable young people who are unable to access classroom-based education because of complex behaviours, mental health needs and associated conditions.

As a Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that young people have a safe environment to reach their full potential. You will be required to implement assessment and integration plans, whilst supporting social and emotional development.

Requirements of a Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor

  • Excellent knowledge of EHCP’s, SEMH, and trauma
  • Experience of working with SEMH, ACE’s, ASD, sensory and communication difficulties
  • De-escalation and restraint may be required
  • Must be flexible and resilient as a Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor
  • Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor must be able to develop and maintain constructive relationships with pupils and maintain professional conduct
  • Experience using assessments and developing feedback
  • Knowledge of the social model, classroom model and creating a therapeutic environment
  • Must be able to model and maintain professional boundaries
